Realgrowth Development is a residential development company with a vision to create homes for people, where they can live and play. Our focus is to develop sustainable, evolving, and desirable places whilst keeping it affordable.

Creating a home is a much more complex task than simply producing reasonably priced and adequately functional units in the hope that they can be sold or leased. It is relatively simple to build a property, but functionality alone does not produce success. A building should also be efficient, appealing, beautiful, meaningful, and equally important, it must contribute to a defined area. Our business is a hugely satisfying process ranging from the acquisition of property to the finished product and the eventual management of the complexes.

THE PROCESS

HOW DO WE FIND INTERESTING SITES?

Realgrowth pro-actively seeks out sites in areas where the central business districts are situated. However, at times landowners approach us directly or through Property Agents.

HOW DO WE WORK?

The process starts with an assessment of the site. There are many factors to evaluate in the first phase of development, such as geographic aspects, town planning spatial development frameworks, availability of services, geotechnical conditions, market demand, and the environment. We also keep in mind the current needs in the area and how developing there will add value to the existing surroundings.

WHO DEVELOPS THE SITE?

In most cases Realgrowth selects the site and then a dedicated professional team assists with planning, design approvals, and financing. Each project is unique, and therefore tailored to that specific area, the needs of the community, and expectations of the various stakeholders.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Erika completed a National Diploma in Information Technology from the Tshwane University of Technology. She furthered her education by completing a Diploma in Project Management from the University of Pretoria, followed by a Certificate in Financial Management.

During her early career, Erika was very interested in realty development. In 2001 she made the best career move of her life when she and her brother, Andre Nortje, set up a construction development company, Blue Bridge Construction.

 

She has more than 15 years experience in project management and property development and joint forces with the Rossouw brothers in 2011 to establish Realgrowth Development, an affordable housing development company.

DR NAUDÉ
ROSSOUW

DIRECTOR

Naudé  is  the youngest son of Chris and Naubie Rossouw. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pretoria in 1996. He spent a considerable amount of time in the United Kingdom, where he practised medicine and acquired skills and knowledge of international standards.

After returning to his country of origin, he went on to work as a general practitioner in Pretoria. Being part of such a dynamic family, he gained extensive knowledge of entrepreneurship and business practices, especially property development, from his siblings.

 

In 2003, he joined the family business full-time and developed two large brands: Rossgro Eggs and Rossgro Feeds. Over a period of 10 years, Naudé was project manager of the construction of 30 environmentally controlled layer houses. He took the family business to a new level by establishing the Rossgro brand in the commercial field as well as in the building industry of South Africa.

DR ADRIAAN
ROSSOUW

DIRECTOR

Adriaan is the eldest son of Chris and Naubie Rossouw, farmers in the Delmas district, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Adriaan enrolled at the University of Pretoria’s Medical Faculty to complete his MBChB and qualified as a medical practitioner in 1987. He also obtained a financial management certificate in 2006.

Soon after initiating his career as a medical doctor he found a way to combine his passion for architecture, finances, and medicine when he built 500m2 consultation rooms in Delmas. This project ignited his property development career! He ventured into many more development projects whilst simultaneously taking care of his patients.

Adriaan made a career change to the Rossouw poultry industry when he joined the family business in 1998.

 

This move, once again, offered an opportunity for him to tap into his passion for architecture. He developed the group’s first broiler farm, which is still his main focus within the Rossouw Family Group.

 

Adriaan has more than twenty-four years of experience in business management, building, and development. His diverse array of business experience makes him the perfect value add to the Realgrowth Development team.

CHARLES
ROSSOUW

DIRECTOR & CHAIRMAN

Charles obtained his BSc degree in Construction Management from the University of Pretoria in 1988. Since then he has been involved in numerous property development and building projects across South Africa.

 

He is the second son of Chris and Naubie Rossouw, well-known farmers of Delmas in Mpumalanga. The Rossouw Family are the proud owners of the Farmers of the Year Award that was bestowed on their family in 1997. Charles’ upbringing on the farm and the family value of excellence enabled him to combine his skills as a builder with his family’s passion for agriculture. He developed numerous innovative solutions for the extended Rossouw farming business.

Charles and his father, Chris, jumped at the opportunity to purchase a run-down citrus farm in Groblersdal in the early 1990s. With hard work and dedication he turned it into an outstanding farming enterprise, exporting to a global selection of markets and countries.

 

In 1992, Charles founded Rossouw Construction boasting numerous flagship projects over many years.

PROPERTY MANAGER

Carina holds a National Diploma in Office Management and Technology from the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, and has over twenty-five years of experience in Administration Management. She has worked across a variety of industries, from Mining and Building, to Health.

In 1997, she obtained a Certificate in Marketing from the Technicon South Africa, supporting her keen interest in marketing and advertising. Her passion for excellence and refined people skills, underpinned by her years of experience in Administration Management, makes the roll of managing service providers, greatly rewarding. In addition to her role as Property Services Manager, she is also responsible for managing the office.

CHANTAL
MOELLER

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Chantal qualified as a Quantity Surveyor – B.Sc. (Hons) QS – from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2004.

Chantal gained extensive experience in all fields of Quantity Surveying, from the inception conceptual feasibility stage, to preparation of detailed cost plans, production of bills of quantities, tender evaluation reporting, interim valuations for payments, cost reporting, and finalization of all accounts. Her experience also includes the interpretation of various standard contract documents used in the building industry, providing expert advice on claims, developing cost and feasibility computer models, and management practice.

Chantal joined Realgrowth Development in 2016, and has a passion for the actual development. She plays a key role in determining the efficiency of each unique development.

THE TEAM

A project is initiated by establishing a need, desirability, and viability of the Development. Once initiated, a due diligence investigation and feasibility a study is performed to secure the land acquisition. The process from this point to the completion of the project runs as follows:

Prepare and finalise the project concept and design for land development purposes and manage the application through to approval of the rights.

 

Implement the design development for the project, finalising the financial feasibility, cost plan, documentation, and specifications.

Obtain finance approval for the development through equity partnerships and financial institutions.

 

Procure and appoint the main contractor. Manage, monitor, and administer the contracts and operations until completion of the construction works.

 

Close out and handover the project to the property management team.

Realgrowth Development invests in buildings that become stylish, affordable, homes for people to live in. Realgrowth does this as developer-owners and places a very high priority on the upkeep of these apartments as well as the property on which a building is built.

As the Property Management Team, we have a dedicated Rental Agent in Rental Pro’s managing the rental side of the units. Equally important to this, is the managing of the upkeep of the buildings and property is built on.
